As a pediatric dentist, I am committed to using my knowledge and skills to provide you and your child with the necessary tools to grow healthy and with beautiful smiles.
During your child’s first visit to our office and for as long as your child needs, you will be with your child during the entire visit. We know that this will make your child more comfortable, will give you the chance to ask any questions, and will let you see how we interact with children. We spend time getting to know one another and we review your child’s medical history and any previous dental treatment or traumatic injuries. We identify behaviors and factors that may increase your child’s risk for oral disease and we discuss ways to modify these to ensure the best outcome for your child. Depending on your child’s age, you may hold the patient in your lap during the actual examination – this is reassuring to both you and your child and gives you a birds-eye view of what we are seeing.
We want you to feel comfortable to ask any and all questions you may have about the many things we discuss during this visit – normal tooth eruption, oral hygiene, diet, pacifier or finger-sucking habits, and injury prevention, to name a few! We will show you how to care for your child’s teeth and make sure that you are comfortable in doing this at home for your child. We will make specific recommendations about diet and cavity prevention and talk about the overall oral development of your child.
Most importantly, we want to build a relationship with you and your child, based on knowledge and respect, so that together we can give your child healthy smiles that will last a lifetime.
